Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy

Huntsville was home to several cotton mills in the early to mid-20th century. The Merrimack Mill Village grew up around one such mill. It was anchored by the historic Merrimack Hall building, which contained a school, a theater, and a myriad of service spaces for the workers. Arcspace Studio worked with the Fantasy Playhouse family to revitalize the building and transform it into their new home. The building has regained its vibrancy and now contains a large theater, rehearsal rooms, classrooms, offices and support spaces. With this venture now complete, Fantasy Playhouse can better achieve its stated vision: “To be a Center of Excellence for Advancing Theatre and Arts Education.”
