Huntsville Ice Sports Center Expansion

Currently under construction for $45 million, this project will become the epicenter of John Hunt Park. The project doubles the size of the existing two-rink facility by providing an arena addition to the east and a curling addition to the west. The arena addition provides a full-size sheet of ice, additional locker rooms, concessions, restrooms, and support areas. The curling addition contains five curling lanes, a warm room, locker rooms for curlers and figure skaters, offices, a large flex space, and support spaces. This project followed two others, also by Arcspace Studio, in which the original facility was expanded with additional locker rooms and later completely modernized, which included new ice-making equipment. Like those projects, the current expansion project is taking place while the existing facility remains in operation.
